Somali National Union of Healthcare Workers (SONUH) President Dr. Mohamed Hussein Mumin said six things are important for us at this time

1. Training and Education: Continuous training and education are essential for healthcare workers to stay updated with the latest medical practices and technologies.

2. Advocacy and Support: Healthcare worker unions often need support from the government and policymakers to improve working conditions, ensure safety, and maintain fair labor practices.

3. Workplace Safety: Ensuring the safety of healthcare workers on the job is a significant concern, so they may need resources to implement safety measures.

4. Mental Health and Well-being Support: Supporting the mental health and well-being of healthcare workers, who often face high levels of stress and burnout, is critical.

5. Public Awareness: Raising awareness about healthcare issues and the challenges faced by healthcare workers in the community is essential to garner support and understanding.

6. Collaboration: Collaborating with other healthcare organizations, NGOs, and international partners can help address broader healthcare challenges and access additional resources.
